Gamers have only a short window to claim the bizarre, pixel-art adventure Mouthole for free on Steam before it disappears from the platform permanently. The game, developed by the now-defunct studio Anything Nose Productions, is being delisted soon following the studio’s closure — but not before giving players a final chance to own it at no cost.

Mouthole: A Surreal Farewell

Mouthole offers a short but strange experience, combining surreal humor, light puzzles, and narrative exploration. Players journey through 10 oddball worlds accessed by exploring their own mouth — yes, literally — solving challenges that include fitness tasks and even virtual stock market investing. The game promises 11 endings and a heavy focus on storytelling and unconventional exploration mechanics.

Despite its quirky premise, Mouthole has earned Very Positive reviews on Steam. With few players aware of it, the free offer is a chance to uncover what might be a hidden indie gem.

Why It’s Being Removed

The developers recently announced that Anything Nose Productions will cease operations, prompting the removal of their only Steam title. Rather than letting the game vanish without a trace, the studio made the decision to give it away for free before delisting. An exact deadline hasn’t been confirmed, so interested players should act quickly.

Once removed from Steam, Mouthole will still be available to download via itch.io, and the soundtrack can be purchased on Bandcamp.

Other Freebies and Delistings

Mouthole isn’t the only free offering available right now. Until May 20, players can also grab Cast & Spell, a multiplayer spell-fighting game by Hosthood Studio, currently in early access. After the giveaway, it will be priced at $8.

Meanwhile, other games are heading for delisting too — but without the free option. Warhammer 40K: Armageddon and Sanctus Reach are both scheduled to be removed from Steam after May 19, although they will continue to be sold on GOG.

How to Claim Mouthole

  • Visit Steam and search for “Mouthole”.
  • Click “Add to Account” — no purchase required.
  • Download now or keep it in your library for future play.

It’s not often that a game this weird, well-reviewed, and entirely free comes around — especially one vanishing from the platform. If you’re into surreal indie adventures, Mouthole is worth grabbing before it’s gone for good.
