Blizzard has rolled out fresh cosmetic options in World of Warcraft with the return of the fan-favorite Trial of Style event. Players eager to expand their transmogrification collections can now earn new armor appearances but there’s a twist: the event runs for only one week, ending on Thursday, March 27, at 1:00 PM ET.
Trial of Style Returns With Fresh Rewards
The Trial of Style, a twice-yearly competition that blends fashion and fantasy, invites up to six players to strut their stuff in a closed-off instance of Magister’s Terrace. Once inside, contestants receive a randomized theme (often tailored to specific classes like Paladins or Death Knights) and are given two minutes to customize their transmog set accordingly. Then come the voting rounds and ultimately, bragging rights for the top three.
What’s New This Time?
According to Wowhead, this latest edition of the Trial of Style introduces several exclusive recolors of existing armor pieces items that, while visually familiar, sport new hues never before available in-game.
- Leg Wraps — 15 Trial of Style Tokens
- War Slippers — 15 Tokens
- War Skirts — 50 Tokens
- Prowler’s Sepia Headgear Ensemble — 60 Tokens (the priciest new reward)
These recolors are inspired by pieces previously seen in the Trading Post, but their fresh color schemes make them unique to this event.
How to Participate and Where to Redeem Rewards
Players interested in joining the Trial of Style can speak to Warpweaver Hashom in Stormwind or Warpweaver Dushar in Orgrimmar. These Ethereal NPCs serve as the gateway to the competition, as well as the vendors from whom the new cosmetics can be purchased.
Bonus: Free Appearance Changes
For the duration of the event, Blizzard has waived all gold costs for appearance changes. That means players can freely tweak their character’s look including hairstyles, facial features, and transmog sets without spending a single copper.
Goblin-Themed Gear Also Up for Grabs
In addition to the Trial of Style content, players diving into the new Undermined update can snag some Goblin-inspired outfits. Speak with Greexit Coarsebub at Slam Central Station to exchange up to 640 Gold per cartel for new cosmetic collectibles that bring Goblin flair to your wardrobe.
Missed Out? Here’s When It Returns
For those who can’t participate this time around, the Trial of Style is scheduled to return on August 1. Conveniently, that will coincide with the rollout of The War Within Patch 11.2, which may introduce even more cosmetic options to the event.
